REGGIE WORKMAN

The Philadelphia born Reggie Workman and with Maya Workman a founder of MADLOM, Inc., is an internationally acclaimed bassist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator. He’s one of the most original and technically gifted of all bassists. His versatile style fit into both hard bop and avant-garde settings. Currently a professor of music at the New School and an active member of Trio Three with Oliver Lake and Andrew Cyrille.

In past he worked with John Coltrane Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers,Yusef Lateef, Lee Morgan, Booker Little, Elvin Jones Alice Coltrane Freddy Hubbard Wayne Shorter,Terumasa Hino, Mal Waldron, Max Roach,David Murray,Oliver Lake, Chico Freeman, Black Swan String Quartet, Ernie Watts, Sonny Simmons, and many others. He was named a Living Legend in 1999 by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation at Kennedy Center and in 1995 by the African-American Historical and Cultural Museum of Philadelphia.
